Unusual Email Address

Be wary of any unexpected email from addresses that aren't like the ones that you typically receive. Fraudulent emails can appear very convincing, using official language and logos, and similar URLs. Always be alert.

Scare Tactics

Scammers use scare tactics, threats, high-pressure language such as urgent warnings of account closure or security breaches to get you to act quickly. No matter how authentic an email may look, never reply with personal information.

Suspicious Links/URLs

Before you click any link, hover over the link to reveal where it leads. Scam emails use deceptive links/URLs to take you to malicious websites. Never click links that you weren't expecting.

Unexpected Attachments

Something is phishy, stop, do not open it. Attachments can contain malware that can compromise your computer and/or personal information. Misspellings and poor grammar are also warning signs of a scam email.
