Strange Phone Numbers

When you receive a text from a strange number, you should not reply to it and instead block the number. Acting too quickly when you receive a text message can result in unintentionally giving scammers access to your personal information.

Urgent Requests

Stop and take a breath. Scam tests try to create a sense of panic and confusion, such as threatening to suspend an account or use other high-pressure tactics.

Personal Information Requests

If a text message requests sensitive or personal information, such as account numbers, PINs, passwords, or social security numbers, you should assume it's a scam.

Suspicious Links

Never click on a link sent by text message. Scammers often use this technique to steal your information.

Delete The Message

Don't risk sending information accidentally by replying to or saving a fraudulent text message. If you plan to report the message, take a screenshot then delete it.
